Common questions
- When is GSTR-3B due?
- For monthly filers: the 20th of the following month. For QRMP filers in categories A states: 22nd of the month following the quarter. For QRMP filers in category B states: 24th of the month following the quarter.
- What is the QRMP scheme?
- Quarterly Return Monthly Payment, available to taxpayers with aggregate turnover up to ₹5 crore. You file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B quarterly but pay tax monthly via PMT-06 or self-assessment.
- When is GSTR-9 due?
- The annual return GSTR-9 is due by 31st December of the financial year following the year being reported. CBIC has extended this deadline in past years, and the calendar reflects the latest active notification.
- When is GSTR-1 due?
- Monthly filers: the 11th of the following month. QRMP (quarterly) filers: the 13th of the month following the quarter. Invoices can be uploaded through the month via the IFF for the first two months of a quarter.
- What is the due date for CMP-08?
- Composition taxpayers pay tax via CMP-08 by the 18th of the month following each quarter, and file the annual GSTR-4 by 30 June of the following financial year.
- What happens if I miss a GST filing due date?
- You incur a late fee (₹50/day, or ₹20/day for NIL returns) plus 18% annual interest on the tax due, and you cannot file the next period's return until the pending one is filed.
